No Judgment Day exists for humans
by anointed1 ina judgment day seems to be a fabricated teaching because of the following reasons:.
1) each generation believed judgment day would happen in their time (1 corinthians 10:11; hebrews 10:24, 25).. 2) putting an end to the present system of things and starting an eternally existing one does not match with our very makeup.
our physical body is full of proofs for something that exists as the builder and sustainer of body, for something that exists within the body—which we call “i”—which everyone experiences as something alive, conscious and as made of knowledge.

Skinned and Thrown About.....
by Tech49 inthis is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".
with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".
recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

Thanks Tech49. Such posts may help some lurkers to waken up and see exactly what is behind the mask of their revered organization - a very ugly corporate monster, masquerading as the "only true religion."
It beggars belief that any still-in J.W.'s would even consider selling off everything in order to gain "privileges of service" from the parasitic WTBTS - especially after having witnessed (pun intended) the worldwide cull of countless faithful Bethelites, special pioneers, D.O.'s, and C.O.'s.

"Trust your own judgment, for it is your most reliable counselor”. Nice little anecdote for every creature on planet earth which lives purely by instinct, and not by reasoning. (if they could read it!)
As for myself, and I'd venture to say, most people, the advice given by Henry Kett in 1814 would have been more beneficial in view of some of my life-changing decisions - “A man who is his own lawyer has a fool for a client”

@ the-question: if you are a genuine & sincere Bible student, compare the WTBTS's chronology of the Babylonian/Medo-Persian prophecy with the Biblical account.
Fact: Babylon and its king were overthrown in a single night in 539 BCE. If Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon 70 years earlier, that would give the year of 609 BCE - not 607 BCE.
Fact: In order to force "a square peg into a round hole," the alleged "faithful slave" states that it took the exiled Jews more than a year to return to Jerusalem and begin their rebuilding projects.
These scriptures put the spotlight on the WTBT's corrupt logic of adding on time to prophecies in order to fit their prophetic predictions. (e.g. "overlapping" generations)
(Jeremiah 25:11,12) "And all this land must become a devastated place, an object of astonishment, and these nations will have to serve the king of Babylon seventy years."’ (not 68 years - and then serve the Medo-Persian king for the remaining 18 months) And it must occur that when seventy years have been fulfilled (not 68 years) I shall call to account against the king of Babylon and against that nation,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘their error,..."
(Jeremiah 29:10) "For this is what Jehovah has said, ‘In accord with the fulfilling of seventy years (not 68 years) at Babylon I shall turn my attention to YOU people,..."
(Zechariah 7:5) "Say to all the people of the land and to the priests, ‘When YOU fasted and there was a wailing in the fifth month and in the seventh month, and this for seventy years,.." (were they wailing for 68 or 70 years?)
The org's sums don't add up.

Is it possible to decline preaching in the carts?
by Skepsis inhi folks,.
i have a difficult dilemma.
since i'm not pioneering any more, i'm reducing my hours wasted at that artifact known as cart or trolley.

The Glorious Ones wallow in their positions as elders, so suggest to them that they "exert themselves" to take the lead in the art of "trolley zombieism."
(Hebrews 13:7) "Remember those who are taking the lead among you....."
(Hebrews 13:17) "Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among you...."
Regardless of when you stand down as a mini-servant, the reaction from your family is definitely going to be the same, so why prolong your agony?
Bite the bullet, and save yourself having to provide different reasons for quitting pioneering and then quitting as an M.S. Simply give one answer for both - "I'm having to deal with private & personal issues - thanks for your concern."

Death and Judgement Day
by Tirisilex ini'm having a hard time with this.
what does the bible say what happens when you die?
when jesus was on the cross he said to the man that when he dies he will be with jesus in heaven.

@ TIRISILEX: J.W's believe in a two-tier system - some are going to heaven, and most will be on the earth.
Most other Christian denominations believe in a one-tier system - all good people will live in heaven.
Bible verses appear to indicate otherwise. Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; & 1 Timothy 2:6 each refer to a ransom.
A ransom does not buy back more than what has been lost/taken. If your girlfriend was kidnapped and you paid the ransom, I'm sure you'd be surprised if the kidnappers sent J-Lo to you instead.
Likewise, Psalm 37:9,10, &25; Matthew 5:5; & Revelation 21:3,4 each describe the righteous inheriting/living forever on earth, (not in heaven) thereby supplying a ransom for what Adam lost - nothing more. My 2 cents.

If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?
by stuckinarut2 init is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.

km 9/07 p. 3 Question Box - "Does "the faithful and discreet slave" endorse independent groups of Witnesses who meet together to engage in Scriptural research or debate?—Matt. 24:45,47. No, it does not."
The implications of this directive has flown over many/most J.W.'s heads - accept the org's reasonings without question or discussion.
If the Vatican issued such a decree, J.W.'s would be jumping for joy at being able to show Catholics what 1 John 4:1 commands Christians to do - "TEST the inspired expressions, to see if they originate with GOD."
I rest my case!
